One of the original co-writers of "Release
Me", Williams was in a band with fellow composers Eddie Miller and
Robert Yount in the late 1940s. For some inexplicable reason, Miller
and Yount agreed with Four Star Records
entrepreneur William McCall that his pseudonym W.S. Stevenson should
replace Williams' name in 1957.
