     City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra

This orchestra was founded by the conductor Jiri Belohlavek in 1994 and was initially to concentrate on the performance of works for small orchestra of the Classical and 20th Century periods of music.  It is made up of musicians that come from all of the best Czech orchestras to perform on recordings and it normally comprises 40 members that can expend to 48 if required.    They have accompanied many of the world's top soloists including Sarah Chang, Andras Schiff and Raphael Wallfish, and have made several international tours and festival appearances. They record at a permanent studio in Prague and have been heard on numerous soundtracks within the movie and television industry such as Dune, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Portrait of a Lady, Phantom of the Opera and The Ninth Gate , as well as many compilations of music from the silver screen.
