    Maisonettes, The

They were a British group from Birmingham who were discovered by promoter David Virr who put them out on his own record label, Ready, Steady, Go!.  Initially a 3-member band two teenage models were added as backing singers, although their hit "Heartache Avenue" had two different women backers.  They recorded over the next couple of years and released an album in 1983.  The album Heartache Avenue: The Very Best of the Maisonettes was released in 2004.
