Musicians of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston

The MFA was founded in Boston in 1870 and opened to the public on the 4th of July 1876 in the centennial year.  It was originally in Copley Square but due to the sheer amount of additions to the collections and visitors to the museum it was moved to Huntington Avenue in 1909, where it is still currently situated.  The Musicians of the MFA comprise staff musicians who are often joined by acclaimed soloists and groups in their performances.  Each summer they put on a music series in the Calder Courtyard which features guest performers.
