Detroit-based funk outfit that went hitless in spite
of a prolific string of albums in the late '70s and early '80s,
including Shotgun (1977), Good, Bad and Funky (1978), III (1979), IV (1980), Kingdom Come
(1980), and Lady's Choice
(1982). As with most bands,
there were personnel changes over the years, but the core group comprised
Larry Austin (Bass, Vocals), William Gentry (Flugelhorn, Trumpet, Vocals),
Greg Ingram (Saxophone, Vocals), Ernest Lattimore
(Guitar, Vocals), Tyrone Steels (Drums, Vocals) and Billy Talbert (Guitar,
Keyboards). As their projects
became more ambitious, they utilized a number of studio musicians, who are listed
below.
