Be Merry, Be Merry (15^th Century English) This is a traditional English Christmas carol that originated in England in the 15^th century. Unlike many more sombre carols it is a celebration of the pleasures and happiness of life in the Christian faith. It was published in 1914 in the collection entitled Ancient English Christmas Carols: 1400-1700 put together by Edith Rickert.
