Got to Get You Into My Life

    (John Lennon/Paul McCartney)

    The Beatles Recordings

    Capitol, 4274, S45-X45624 (US 45 PS)

Although the song is credited to Lennon and McCartney, Paul McCartney was the main composer of this song and has since admitted it is about marijuana and not a girl as was often thought.  It was recorded at EMI Studios London some time between 7th April and 17th June 1966, but only released as a single in the US in 1976, with "Helter Skelter" on the B-side, and achieving No. 7 in the charts.  Hit cover versions have also been recorded by Cliff Bennett and the Rebel Rousers and Earth, Wind and Fire.  It appears on The Beatles album Revolver.
