(Pepe Luis Soto)
This song was
written by Pepe Luis Soto in the mid 1970s and
recorded by his wife Celi Bee, who was still
known as Celida at the time.
After winning
the Festival de la Voz y La Canzon
in 1972 and releasing an album, Celida and her
husband relocated to the UK.
She recorded an album in England using the name Celida
and this provided the single “Half a Love”.
Although there
was little interest in the UK and Ireland, the song became successful in
Spain and Puerto Rico, and heightened her popularity from being a well
known Latin pop star to a “disco diva”.
The single is
now one of the songs included on the compilation Celi Bee’s Greatest Hits.
