    Letter From Vietnam

    (Barry Sadler)

    Barry Sadler recordings

    RCA Victor 47-8739 (US 45)

This sold over nine million copies as it had the good fortune to be on the flip side of Barry Sadler's "The Ballad of the Green Berets".  It is the third track of Ballads of the Green Berets, released in 1966.  The album was Vietnam-themed, and this ballad is no exception.  It is what you would expect from the title, a soldier talking to his loved one about firefights and speaking optimistically about coming home soon.
