This
is a chamber music fairy tale for family audiences. The libretto and story were provided
by Louise Gikow and it is described by many as a
"Peter and the Wolf-like composition". It is the story of a young girl who
believes that the moon can grant her wishes and is told through narration
and music. The Met used it's premiere to introduce children to the world of
opera in January1995.
