    The song was written when Alabama were still relatively unknown and playing in a steakhouse in Muscles Shoals.  Mac McAnally said the chorus of the song came to him during a plane flight.  It was Donny Lowery's first recorded single.  It reached No.1 in the US Charts in April 1981.
