     Penny Whistle Song, The

    (Leroy Anderson)

This song was written in Woodbury, Connecticut, in 1851 and was premiered by Leroy Anderson when he recorded it for Decca.  It is composed for orchestra and features three flutes, and Leroy Anderson stated that it took four days to write the introduction to it after the rest was finished.  The track was released as a 78rpm and 45rpm on the Decca label, with "Horse and Buggy" or "China Doll" on the reverse, dependent on the issue.
