    Pipes of Peace

    (Paul McCartney)

    Paul McCartney

    (Parlophone R 6064)( UK 45 PS)

This song was originally recorded in September 1983 and reached No.1 in the UK charts in January 1984.  The video was filmed in Chobham, Surrey, England, and depicted the 1914 Christmas truce between the German and English troops in WWI.  Paul McCartney had his hair cut short for the video to add realism and it featured over 100 extras.  This was Paul McCartney's only No.1 as a solo artist.  Linda McCartney took the cover photograph for the 45 picture sleeve.
