    Ragtime

    This is the title song of the musical of the same name.  It is a book by Terrence McNally based on the 1975 novel by E.L. Doctorow about three American families at the turn of the twentieth century.   The show had its premiere in December 1995 in Toronto and opened on Broadway in 1998, running for two years before turning to regional performances.  It has won 4 awards, including a Tony Award in 1998 for Best Score.
