selling over 4 million copies in over 15 countries, and it held the record as
the most successful Australian single for 26 years earning it triple
platinum status. It has over
35 cover versions to date and has been recorded in 12 languages including
Papua New Guinean "pidgin" and Aborigine. In 2006 there was The Inspired
Shaddap You Face Concert to mark its 25th anniversary, where
international artists competed for the best original interpretation. It appears on the 1980 album Shaddap You Face.
