    Somewhere Out There

    (James Horner/Barry Mann/Cynthia Weil)

Linda Ronstadt and James Ingram recordings

    MCA-52973 (MC21884)

Grammy-winning, Oscar-nominated theme song from the Spielberg-produced animated film An American Tail, directed by Disney alumnus Donald Bluth.  Philip Glasser and Bethy Cathcart, as Fievel and Tanya, perform the song in the context of the film. In the capable hands of James Ingram and Linda Ronstadt, the song went to #2 on the Billboard pop chart:  Both appear in the music video as animators drawing cels from the movie.  James Horner, who co-wrote the song with Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, also composed the film score.
