     Sonata

    (David Amram)

     

    This sonata, written for piano, was written in the 1970s.  It is written in three movements, which are said to cover musical genres ranging from Latin, to Aaron Copland, to Charles Ives, to gospel.  The movements are:

     

    (i)                  Overture (Allegro ben marcato

    (ii)                Lullaby (Andante & ben cantando)

    (iii)               Theme & Variations (Andante)
