    Tico-Tico

    (Zequinha de Abreu)

This song was possibly the composer's most famous and first appeared at a dance in his hometown that he and his orchestra were playing at.  At the time it was un-named, but when the dancers first heard it they danced and spun so much that it became originally known as Tico-Tico no Farelo.  It was later named Tico-Tico no Fuba which is literally translated as "Crown Sparrow in the Cornmeal", and is now normally just known as Tico-Tico.  It was brought to fame in the United States when it was sung by Carmen Miranda in the 1947 film Copacabana and Walt Disney used it in the 1943 film Saludos Amigos.
