    Time in a Bottle

    (Jim Croce)

    Paul Rupright recordings

    AMG (780638) (US 45)

Regarded as one of the greatest love songs of all time, it was actually written for Jim's newborn son A.J., now a pop/rock artist in his own right, for the 1972 album You Don't Mess Around With Jim.  Croce's premature death in a plane crash, at the pinnacle of his career, plus the song's inclusion in the ABC-TV movie She Lives! helped "Time in a Bottle" reach #1 in December 1973.  It continues to receive frequent airplay to this day.
