Violinist from Tenerife, Canary Islands, who studied with Josef Gingold, Andrzej Grabiec, Bernard Greenhouse, Franco Gulli, Oscar Hernandez, Josep Pons, and Carl Roskott.

Groups with whom he has worked include the Atlantis Ensemble, BandArt, the Barcelona Opera, Barcelona 216, the Brandenburg Sinfonia of London, Cuarteto Ballesteros, the Endymion Trio, the European Union Youth Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Messiaen Trio, the New World Symphony Orchestra, the San Sebastian Symphony, the Simon Bolivar Orchestra of Venezuela, Sinfonietta de Paris, and the Tenerife Symphony.

In 1993, Barcelona 216 performed Salvador Brotons’ “Mixed Sextet” in Madrid, Spain.

David premiered the “Violin Concerto” of Jose Brito with Sinfonietta de Paris at Menuhin Hall in 2009.

On 8^th November 2009, he helped celebrate the 150^th anniversary of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Dowagiac, Michigan. The program featured Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Brandenburg Concerto No. 5”, George Frideric Handel’s “Organ Concerto in B flat, Op. 4, No. 6”, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Church Sonata No. 9 in F, K. 244”.

He premiered the “Trio” of Gustavo Diaz-Jerez with the composer/pianist and cellist David Barrera in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on 25^th May 2010.

In 2011, the Endymion Trio participated in the Latino Music Festival in Chicago, Illinois.

Recordings on which David has appeared include Classikhan with Chaka Khan and the London Symphony Orchestra, Musica Per A Violi De: Jordi Cervello with Angel Jesus Garcia and Manuel Garcia Morante, and Suite Piazzollana with Emilio Solla y la Orquestable.

In the field of music education, he has taught at the Guildhall School in London, England, and has been active with Camerata XXI, the Eastern Music Festival, the Pablo Casals Festival, and the LSO’s Discovery program.
