Brown, Bill

Session vocalist who was a member of The Bill Bates Singers, along with Sue Allen and Loulie Jean Norman , on The Paul Desmond Quintet’s 1954 release, Desmond. Around the same time, he was also recording with The Easy Riders on tracks that would eventually wind up on their album, Marianne. At the end of this period, in 1962, he whooped it up with the Cartwright boys on Bonanza: A Ponderosa Party.

In the 1970s, he continued to record on an eclectic mix of material, including prog-rock band Triumvirat’s A la Carte and Frank Sinatra’s boxed set, Trilogy. Bill Brown is also credited with backing vocals on Jacob Magnusson’s Jack Magnet, and That Old Black Magic: The Harold Arlen Songbook.

Here’s a song from Bonanza: A Ponderosa Party
