Tunick, Jonathan (19th April 1938-Present)

He is an orchestrator, composer and music director born in New York City.

Making his name as an orchestrator and conductor he has worked regularly with many acclaimed composers of film, television and theatre and is particularly known for his work with Stephen Sondheim.

The recipient of a Tony, a Grammy, an Emmy and an Academy Award, he is one of a very select few that has won all four main prizes in American entertainment.

As an orchestrator and music director he has worked on A Chorus Line, A Little Night Music, Endless Love, Titanic, State Fair and The Color Purple, to name just a fraction.

His compositions include songs for TV programmes and films such as A Little Night Music, Flying High, Rendezvous Hotel, Alice in Wonderland and The Birdcage.

In the realms of orchestral conducting he has led the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Abbey Road Ensemble in the company of soloists such as Ben Heppner and Dame Kiri Te Kanawa.

Appearing on numerous albums he has worked with artists including Burt Bacharach, Barry Manilow, Judy Collins, Barbra Streisand, Placido Domingo and Paul McCartney.
