He is a drummer who was born in Rochester, New York.  He began as a member of the Syracuse based Jam Factory, who would relocate to Macon, Georgia, and become the Tall Dogs Orchestra.

He was auditioned by Paul McCartney , in a basement in New York, after answering an advertisement for a drummer.  Becoming part of the group Wings , he first worked on the Venus and Mars album.  By the time they recorded Wings at the Speed of Sound he was singing lead vocals on “Must Do Something About It”.  He started to become disenchanted through the London Town Sessions and returned to Macon to join Sea Level.
