This song is one of the most well known Steve Miller Band 45 releases and it reached No. 1 in the US, their third one to do so, and No. 2 in the UK charts in 1982. It’s No. 1 spot in the US was taken over by Chicago’s “Hard to Say I’m Sorry” but after two weeks “Abracadabra” resumed it’s position for another week.
It appears on the Steve Miller Band 1982 album of the same name and the video for this song was the first one done by the Steve Miller Band.
The song has also been recorded by the group Sugar Ray and appears on the 1999 album 14:59.
