Havana Daydreamin’

(Jimmy Buffett)

This song was written by Jimmy Buffett and released on the 1976 album of the same name.  It was stated by Jimmy Buffett on the notes on his buffettnews site that he had written the song after reading the book Far Tortuga and had been taken in with the thought of men on a turtle boat as described by Peter Mathisson.

Although the album charted at No. 21 on the country chart and No. 65 on the Billboard album chart, the single release was not successful. However, the song does re-appear on a further four of Jimmy’s albums which are Biloxi: Best Of, Meet Me in Margaritavile, You Had To Be There and Boats, Beaches, Bars & Ballads.
