Byl, Nellie (25th March 1919–30th November 2011)

She was a composer and songwriter born Nelly Antionette Byl in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, Belgium,  who often collaborated with Daniel Vangarde and Jean Kluger.

She wrote and co-wrote more then 2000 songs in several European languages that included 200 songs for Will Tura and the hits that include “Hands Up (Give Me Your Heart)” which reached No. 3 in the UK for the French group Ottawan, and “Que Sera Mi Vida” which the Gibson Brothers took to No.5 in the UK.

She passed away at the Edith Cavell Hospital in Uccle, Belgium, in November 2011 when she was 92 years old.
