Ludwig Guttler Brass Ensemble

This ensemble was founded by the virtuoso trumpeter Ludwig Guettler in 1978 which is composed of 10 soloists from the Dresden State Orchestra of Saxony, the Dresden Philharmonic, the Leipzig Gewendhaus Orchestra and the Robert-Schumann Philharmonic (Chemnitz).

They concentrate on many genres of music including work on period wind music and instruments from the 17th and 18th centuries, many rare and unplayed pieces which Ludwig Guttler found and arranged for the ensemble.

The ensemble has attracted a wide audience through it’s recordings, performances during ceremonies, appearances on radio and television and its national and international tours.
