Gibson, Alex

He is a singer/drummer/percussionist born Alex Francfort in Martinique,West Indies, and the brother of Chris and Patrick Francfort/Gibson.  They formed the band Gibson Brothers in around 1976 and cut their first single, which he had written, “Come to America” in 1976 which was successful in Europe.  Their next single was their first million-seller in Europe.  He co-wrote several of their songs including the hit “Ooh! What a Life” with Daniel Vangarde.  Although not popular in the US, they met with much more success in the European scene.  Although disco music essentially collapsed in 1980, the brothers continued to tour and release discs.
