Saint Louis Cathedral Choir

This choir performs at the Saint Louis Cathedral Basilica in Saint Louis, Missouri, and made up of singers that have been gathered from the surrounding parishes.  The singers are auditioned to earn themselves a position.

It accompanies all the main services and special occasions held at the cathedral such as the installation of their Archbishop and in 1999 they were the principal choir for the visit by Pope John Paul II to the city which led to them appearing on television’s Good Morning America.

The choir has made several tours and appeared in Europe on three occasions where they gave a performance of Mozart’s Mass in Salzburg and Verdi’s Requiem in Rome.  Giving many concerts in their cathedral home and other venues in the United States, they have given performances of Berlioz’ Te Deum and Haydn’s Mass in time of War and feature in “Christmas at the Cathedral” each December.
