Mallaber, Gary (11th October 1946-Present)

He is a session drummer, percussionist, keyboard player, producer and singer-songwriter born in Buffalo, New York.  Beginning his career by playing in the Buffalo band Raven, he became a session drummer and has played on many singles and albums by artists that include Bruce Springsteen (5 albums/2 hit singles), Van Morrison (6 albums/8 hit singles), The Heights, Eddie Money (5 albums/5 hit singles), Peter Frampton, Poco, The Mark Tanner Band and even Kermit the Frog.  Other artists that he has worked with are Joan Armatrading, Bonnie Raitt, The Beach Boys, Bob Seger, Barbra Streisand, Warren Zevon and David Cassidy.

He was the drummer of the Steve Miller Band and as well as writing/co-writing and producing many of their later songs he features greatly on nine of their chart hits and eleven albums.

In the movies he has written songs on the soundtracks of numerous films that include Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, Night of the Comet, St. Elmo’s Fire, Dead Man Walking, Rambo 2 First Blood and Caddy Shack and he has appeared in Phantom of the Paradise and That Thing You Do.

The recipient of at least 28 gold and platinum albums, he has appeared and performed on several television shows and music videos. He also has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with The Steve Miller Band.
