Mann, Barry (9th February 1939-Present)

He was born Barry Iberman in Brooklyn, New York and is part of one of the most prolific songwriting teams in popular music.  His partner is his wife Cynthia Weil and together they own Dyad Music.

His first hit was “She Say (Oom Dooby Doom)” which was sung by The Diamonds in 1959  and his hits co-written with his wife include “Sometimes When We Touch”, “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin'”, “Here You Come Again” and many more.  In 1961 he co-wrote and sang the Top 10 hit “Who Put The Bomp”.

Together with his wife, they have won Grammy Awards and Academy Award nominations for their film scores, which include American Tail and The Pagemaster.  In 1987 he was inducted into the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame and in 2010 he and his wife were recipients of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s Ahmet Ertegun Award.
