Robbins, Kent Marshall (23rd April 1947-27th December 1997)

He was a country music songwriter born in Mayfield, Kentucky who attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville.

In 1974 he wrote for Charley Pride’s Pi-Gem records, and in 1981 he formed his own company.   He wrote and co-wrote for many artists including John Anderson, Randy Travis, Waylon Jennings and George Strait.  He won a Grammy nomination for The Judd’s “Love Is Alive” in 1985.

He died in an automobile accident on 27th December 1997 in Clanton, Alabama, when he was 50 years old.  The following year he was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.
