He is a bass player and vocalist born in Washington DC whose career began in the 1960s with his first credit being his work with the Sweet Inspirations, which was co-founded by Cissy Houston.
He went on to work with the Steve Miller Band from 1972 to 1973 and then 1981 to 1983, extensively recording and touring with them and became a pivotal part of the recording team with Steve Miller and Gary Mallaber.
During the 1970s he worked with a touring troupe that belonged to David Mason and in 1977 he began working with Crosby, Stills & Nash. He performed on Stephen Still’s 1978 album Thoroughfare Gap and in 1979 they toured and he became part of the famed Havana Jam shows.
Other artists he has also worked with are Glencoe, Sugarcubes, Sly & Robbie, Hannaford Street Silver, Carl Wilson, Ben Sidran, Pointer Sisters, and Les Dudek. He continues to work with Stephen Stills and CSN and is also the bass player with the The Jones Boys R&B Band.
