Lower, Cheryl Bray

She is a soprano and author born Cheryl Bray who has been a member of the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra Chamber Chorus since the days of the conductor Robert Shaw and also appeared in his offshoot ensemble The Robert Shaw Chamber Singers.

In 1976, after she had been inspired by Robert Shaw and the Robert Shaw Chorale, she became a co-founder of the Atlanta Singers and more than three decades later they are continuing to perform and record.

Albums she has appeared in include John Luther Adams: The Far Country, Antiphonica, Chantez Noel, Deep River: A Program of American Music and American Sampler with the Atlanta Singers and Songs of Angels: Christmas Hymns & Carols by the Robert Shaw Chamber Singers.

As an author she has written the book Joseph L. Manciewicz: Critical Essays and Guide to Resources.
