He is a singer-songwriter and keyboardist born in New York who grew up in Los Angeles.
He became a member of the band The Mugwumps and this would see him opening for acts such as The Byrds, The Doors and Janis Joplin among others, releasing three singles and appearing as a singer on the theme song to Mondo Hollywood.
In 1985 he relocated to Nasvhille to perform with Rosanne Cash’s band and after settling there he became a writer for Pat Higdon in 1989.
His career as a keyboardist has seen him performing, touring and recording with many successful artists that include David Bowie, Jimmy Buffett, Rosanne Cash, Rita Coolidge, Bob Dylan, The Eagles, Dan Fogelberg, Glenn Frey, Josh Leo, J.D. Souther, Mike Utley, Joe Walsh and Bobby Womack. He was a co-founder of the group Run C&W with Bernie Leadon, Jim Photoglo and Russell Smith and is currently a member of the band The Vinyl Kings.

His songwriting talents have made him a BMI Million-air at least four times over and his songs have been used by many singers and groups such as John Anderson, Jimmy Buffett, Cher, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Timothy B. Schmit, Phoebe Snow, Pam Tillis, Randy Travis, Tina Turner and Mary Wells and include “I’ll Take That as a Yes” by Phil Vassar, “Tell Me What You Dream” by Restless Heart, “Walkaway Joe” by Trisha Yearwood featuring Don Henley and “What Mattered Most” by Ty Herndon.
In the movies his songs have been heard on the soundtrack for the 1989 Warlock. In 2005 he took on the position of counsellor at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp.
