Meredith, James

He is a singer, pianist, organist, arranger, composer, conductor and music director born in North Carolina and studied at the university of North Carolina and Tulane University.

His musical abilities have seen him working in many international countries as a soloist, accompanist and conductor and he has appeared in the United States leading ensembles such as the Oakland Symphony Chorus and the Sonos Handbell Ensemble.  He partnered the operatic soprano Olivia Stapp and appeared on radio with mezzo-soprano Frederica von Stade and at the Nice Conservatory in France he assisted in masterclasses for art song with Dalton Baldwin.

As the founding music director of the Sonos Handbell Ensemble he has made several successful recordings and given numerous concerts, and as an organist he his a member of the Lake Park United Methodist Church in Oakland, California.

In the world of education he has taught masterclasses at several colleges and universities, and he has also been on the faculty of Merritt College.

As a composer he has written the work “Kodo Triptych” for percussion, handbells and hand chimes and as an arranger his work has been heard the world over.
