Moisiades, Ariadne

Choral director, entrepreneur, teacher, and vocalist who attended Northwestern University and West Chester University of Pennsylvania, acquiring Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in the field of music education.

It did not take her long to put her education to work:  In the 1990s, she served as choral director for Glenbard North High School, Glenbard South High School, Hillendale Elementary School, Niles West High School, and Unionville Elementary School.  In 1999, she was a guest conductor of the Vancouver Chamber Choir.

She went on to become the choral director at York High School and the women’s chorale director at North Central College, where she also wears the hat of student teacher supervisor.  From 2002 to 2004, she directed the Community Chorus and was an advanced conducting instructor at DePaul University.  She was also a guest lecturer at Wheaton College during the second semester at Wheaton College in 2005.

It was a busy time for Ari, as she was also in the process of starting up her own company, Sound Strategies Coaching and Consulting, a firm that specializes in advising female executives and professionals who wish to hone their business development and leadership skills.

She even coaches other coaches, student coaches in this case, as they wend their way through the certification and training processes.  Ariadne’s own certifications came courtesy of the International Coach Federation and the Coaches Training Institute, and she did much of her training at the Center for Right Relationship.

Her relationship with choral directing has not waned, however.  In the spring of 2007, she was the choral director of the College of DuPage Concert Choir and a guest conductor of the Women’s Chorale in a program comprised of works by William Dawson, Gabriel Faure and Gustav Mahler at North Central College.  She was also one of the adjudicators at the Dixie Classic Festivals on 26th April 2008 in Chicago, Illinois.

Her own performance record includes stints with Glen Ellyn’s New Classic Singers, Pennsylvania Opera Theatre, and The Philadelphia Singers, the chorus-in-residence of the Philadelphia Orchestra.
