Mooney, Thom (5th January 1948-Present)

He is a drummer born in Altoona, Pennsylvania, who began performing while still a teenager.

He appeared with the groups The Munchkins and Woody’s Truck Stop before becoming a member of Todd Rundgren’s band The Nazz in 1967.  He left the band in 1970 and moved on to perform with the Curtis Brothers, Tattoo, Fuse and was with Bob Welch and Glenn Cornick in the trio Paris for a year or so from 1975 to 1976.

He has also performed and recorded with artists that include Jimmy Buffett, Rita Coolidge, John Hiatt, Danny O’Keefe and David Werner.

Albums he has appeared on during the course of his career include In Strict Tempo by David Ball, One Particular Harbor by Jimmy Buffett, Inside the Fire by Rita Coolidge, Slug Line by John Hiatt, Nazz, Global Blues by Danny O’Keefe and Paris.
