Morin, Frank

Multi-instrumentalist most closely associated with The Sir Douglas Quintet and The Grateful Dead, although he has also worked with Chuck Berry, Blue Cheer, Mother Earth, and Quicksilver Messenger Service.

His main instrument is the saxophone, but he also plays drums, flute, harmonica, harp, horn, maracas, and marimba, and contributes background vocals if he’s not out of breath.

He appears on the DVD Live From Austin, Texas: Sir Douglas Quintet, a chronicling of their Austin City Limits concert on 21st January 1981.

In the 2010s he was still active in production, film soundtracks and teaching.
