Nicholson, Paul

He is a harpsichordist and organist born in Liverpool, England, who studied at the Dartington College of Arts and read music at the University of York.

Known as a specialist in period keyboard playing, he performs as a soloist, group member and conductor of chamber music ensembles and orchestras and has made appearances with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, the Parley of Instruments and the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra among others.  He is also a member of Convivium (previously known as The Locatelli Trio) and has made several recordings and tours with them.

As a conductor and music director he has directed at the Boston Early Music Festival and the Carmel Bach Festival and is a Festival Director for the Tilford Bach and London Handel Festivals.

In radio he regularly broadcasts on BBC Radio 3.
