He was a drummer who grew up in Jacksonville, Florida and was a member of The Candymen in the 1960s.
He joined Atlanta Rhythm Section in 1970 and was a member of the band until 1978. During that time he co-wrote many of the group’s songs.
Working with many other artists he was heard performing with acts such as Paul Davis, Al Kooper, Frankie & Johnny and appeared on albums which include his own It’s a Complicated World and also Are You Ready, Boys From Doraville, Champagne Jam, Dog Days and Underdogby the Atlanta Rhythm Section, Candymen Bring You Candypower by The Candymen, Pronounced Leh-Nerd Skin-nerd by Lynyrd Skynyrd, There Is Only One Roy Orbison/The Orbison Way by Roy Orbison and Artimus Venomus by Artimus Pyle.
He died in May 2012 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, when he was 67 years old.
