Paige, Sharon

She is a singer who was discovered by Harold Melvin and joined Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes on several of their recordings from 1974.

She performed on songs by the group that include “After You Love Me, Why Do You Leave Me” and “Tonight’s the Night” and saw success with the duet with Teddy Pendergrass “Hope That We Can Be Together Soon” which went to No. 1 on the R&B chart in 1975.  After Teddy Pendergrass left the group in 1976 she held a more prominent position within the group, occasionally singing lead vocals.

She left them sometime for a brief period during the early 1980s but returned to continue touring and performing with them.  After Harold Melvin passed away in 1997 she continued as one of Harold Melvin’s Blue Notes who are maintaining his musical legacy.
