He is a singer-songwriter and bassist who grew up in Los Angeles and has been active in the music industry since the 1970s.
After having played in bands I his teenage years and also trying his hand out at a life on the road, he return to Los Angeles and began by performing a diverse range of gigs, with one where he arranged a backing band led by John Belushi at a party for Paul Mcartney. It wasn’t too long before he was offered a record deal in 1979 which allowed him to see success with the hits “Fool in Love With You” and “We Were Meant to be Lovers” and three album releases. This in turn saw him touring Asia, touring the United States with the Beach Boys as their opener and appearing on several television shows.
Putting his own recordings to one side during the 1980s, he performed as a singer and musician with artists such as Jimmy Buffett, Dan Fogelberg, Andy Gibb, Vince Gill and Nicolette Larson and then he decided to relocate to Nashville and work as a songwriter. This was an extremely successful move for him and since that time his hits songs include “Hometown Honeymoon” by Alabama and “Fishin’ in the Dark” by The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and others have been recorded by countless artists that include John Anderson, The Everly Brothers, Faith Hill, James Ingram, Brenda Lee, Patty Loveless, The Oak Ridge Boys, Marty Robbins, Kenny Rogers, Dusty Springfield, Pam Tillis, Travis Tritt and Tanya Tucker and many more.
Once the 1990s came around he decided to record a further two albums and become a co-founder of Run C&W with the songwriter Vince Melamed, Russell Smith of the Amazing Rhythm Aces and Bernie Leadon of the Eagles. 2000 saw him releasing a further solo album, starting his own Grifftone Records and also co-founding The Vinyl Kings.
He currently tours as a solo artist and also in the duo Freebo and Photoglo as well as taking part in workshops for songwriters. He was a sideman to the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band on their tour for their 50th Anniversary in 2016.

Thomas, A Little Trip and Time Machine by The Vinyl Kings. In the movies his co-written song with Michael McDonald, “Meaning of Love”, has appeared in What Planet Are You From?
