Violinist with the London Symphony Orchestra who appears on their albums, Bach to BrubeckClassikhanThe Dust Bowl SymphonyEpiphanyJohn Adams:  A Flowering TreeMusic of Hope, and Renaissance Holiday.

On 15th December 2010, the LSO were joined by Midori for a performance of Max Bruch’s “Violin Concerto No. 1”, which was sandwiched between Gyorgy Ligeti’s “Concert Romanesc” and Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade.

Leonidas Kavakos was the soloist on 23rd and 24th March 2011 when they performed “Violin Concerto No. 1” by Dmitri Shostakovich.  They opened with “Lithuanian Saga” by Rodion Shchedrin and closed with “Symphony No. 2” (“Little Russian”) by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

On 27th October 2011, they teamed up with the London Voices for “The Film Music of Dimitri Tiomkin at Barbican Hall.  The concert included the world concert premieres of “The Fall of Love” from The Fall of the Roman Empire and the theme from Search for Paradise.

They joined forces with keyboardist Yefim Bronfman and soprano Elizabeth Watts for Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Piano Concerto No. 3” and Gustav Mahler’s “Symphony No. 4” on 27th May 2012.

On 31st May 2012, Bronfman was back, along with violinist Gil Shaham, for Alban Berg’s “Chamber Concerto”, which was followed by Mahler’s “Symphony No. 1” (“Titan”).

Shaham returned on 3rd June 2012 for Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Violin Concerto No. 5” (“Turkish”), and the evening was rounded out by Mahler’s “Symphony No. 5”.
