Rios, Carlos

He is a guitarist, keyboardist and songwriter who started his musical endeavours by playing in his high school band.

During this time he became acquainted with the jazz musician Larry Carlton who would become his tutor, and after there had been a mix up with a telephone call his mother had received for him, and then a call to Larry Carlton he suddenly found himself audtioning and subsequently performing on the Gino Vanelli’s Brother to Brother.  This was enough to catapult him into a career as a much sought after session and touring musician and he has since been heard on the road and/or in the studio with acts such as Marc Almond, Chet Atkins, Chick Corea, Paulinho Da Costa, The Emotions, Fleetwood Mac, The Four Tops, Don Henley, James Ingram, Madonna, Arnold McCuller, Stevie Nicks, Kenny Rogers and many more.

Appearing on countless recordings, a sample of what he features on includes Fandango by Herb Alpert, Dukes by Cher, Rescue Me by Tom Jones, Wishful Thinking by Earl Klugh, Promise by Earth, Wind & Fire, Seduction by James Last, Dancing on the Ceiling by Lionel Richie, Force Behind the Power by Diana Ross, Other Roads by Boz Scaggs, Seal IV by Seal and the soundtracks of Practical Magic.

As a songwriter his credit includes the hit “Dancing on the Ceiling” by Lionel Richie.
