Scully, Bernhard

He is a horn player born into a musical family who grew up in Minnesota.

He started to play the violin and piano while very young and moved to the horn when he was eleven.  He performed with the Minnesota Youth Symphony and the Greater Twin Cities Youth Orchestra, became a finalist for the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts in their Young Artists Competition   and took studies with Kendall Betts of the Minnesota Orchestra.

He attended the Northwestern University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he was made a distinguished Collins Fellow.

He has performed with the Madison Symphony, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Sinfonia da Camera and the  Canadian Brass.

He has been a member of the faculty of Kendall Betts’ Horn Camp in Littleton, New Hampshire and also appears there with the North Country Chamber Players.

He is an Associate Professor of Horn at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
