Steinberg, Pinchas (13th December 1945-Present)

He is an orchestral conductor born in Israel who took violin studies in the United States and compositional studies in Berlin, making his conductor debut with the RIAS Symphony Orchestra in Berlin in 1974.

He was invited as a guest conductor to the Vienna State Opera in 1986 and would perform with them in that capacity until 1993.

As a Principal Conductor he has had tenures with the Orchestra de la Suisse Romande and the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra. He has led many major orchestras including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Philharmonia Orchestra, the Cleveland Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic and the Cologne Radio Orchestra and made several recordings.
