Violinist, born in Canada, who performed with The New York Pops and had some success on Broadway as well as in the recording studio. He appeared on the Broadway soundtracks of Beauty and the Beast and My One and Only and with the Warner Bros. Orchestra on Bugs Bunny on Broadway, a collection of musical skits from the hit cartoon shows.
George also recorded with Nnenna Freelon on her 1994 release Listen, Lynn Roberts on Harry, You Made Me Love You, and Frank Sinatra on his 1979 box set, Trilogy.
You could frequently find him in the Christmas spirit: In 1991, he performed in a Christmas concert at Larchmont Avenue Presbyterian Church in New York. A year later, he appeared on the rather ungainly titled Merry Christmas from Doc Severinsen and The Tonight Show Orchestra, and later popped up on Leon Redbone’s 1998 Yuletide offering, Christmas Island.
He died of cancer in 2008 when he was 55 years old.
