Chamberlain, David

Singer-songwriter and record producer who was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, and performed in several local clubs when he was young.  It was around that time that he also started songwriting.

He relocated to Nashville in the 1970s and soon found himself working alongside such notables as George Jones, Johnnie Paycheck, Charley Pride, Dottie West and Tammy Wynette among many others.   He collaborated with Jim Vest on Hargus “Pig” Robbins’ paean to the pudgy, “Chunky People” (1979).

Winner of the ASCAP Song of the Year award, his tunes have been covered by the likes of George Strait, Tanya Tucker, and Gene Watson, and himself, on his solo album David Chamberlain Sings The Songs He Wrote.

In more recent years he has also turned his hand to record production.
