Christiansen, Carsten

Songwriter, singer and producer also known as Cheryl Christensen, who started out in her music career in the 1970s when she was asked to write songs for Motown Records by the producer of the group 21st Direction.  Their collaboration saw her writing skills come to the fore in three records for their second album.

Soon after she began working for CBS Records in collaboration with the producer Jack Gold.  This led to her writing songs with him and Arnold Goland such as “The Best Days of Our Lives” which was recorded by Johnny Mathis and the title song of his album.  She also co-wrote “The Best thing We Can Do Is Say Goodbye” recorded by Gladys Knight.
